Did you know chickens love jello?! This is a recipe that is jello. Hens also like things like dried mealworms, sunflower seeds, cracked corn, shaved veggie peals, chopped fruit in the jello. Today we are making Jello Treats for Chickens!
Jello Treats for Chickens
Ingredients:
- 3 Tbsp grass-fed gelatin — where to find (use my Mom’s coupon code REALFOOD and you will get 10% off your entire order)
- 1/2 cup juice
- 1 cup cold water
- 2.5 cups boiling water
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- Any add-ons you want: raisins, diced apples, greens, veggie shreds, etc
Directions:
- Spread carrots and sunflower seeds into silicon molds — like these
Share carrots with your brothers!
- In a medium bowl, combine gelatin, juice, and cold water
- Whisk together
- Whisk in hot water
- Pour mixture over seeds and carrot shreds
Make sure your brothers have lots of projects to do so they don’t bother you when you are making your chicken treats!
- Place molds into the fridge for 2-3 hours, or until set
- Release Jello Treats for Chickens from molds and feed them to your chickens!
- Store remaining Jello Treats for Chickens in an airtight container in the fridge, lasts about one week
